Flash (Series 1 1959-1985)
DC Comics’ Flash comic book series began with issue #105 in March 1959, continuing the numbering from the Golden Age Flash Comics series. Starring Barry Allen, a police scientist who gained super-speed after being struck by lightning and exposed to chemicals, the series followed the Scarlet Speedster through some of the defining stories of DC’s Silver and Bronze Ages. The series continued through issue #350 in October 1985.

The original Flash 1959 series features numerous key issues, first appearances and major moments in DC Comics history. Highlights include Flash #105 (first issue of the ongoing Barry Allen series and first Mirror Master), #106 (first Gorilla Grodd and Pied Piper), #110 (first Wally West as Kid Flash), #123 (the landmark Flash of Two Worlds story featuring the return of Jay Garrick and establishing Earth-Two), #139 (first appearance of Professor Zoom, the Reverse-Flash) and #275 (Iris West is killed by Reverse-Flash).
